We woke up early today because the Johnsons were coming to see the boat to have breakfast. They arrived by launch and stayed for about an hour before saying a sad goodbye and heading back to shore. Then another family, the O'Connels, came for a day sail. They brought donuts, which we ate before leaving the mooring. That was so nice of them!

We got underway pretty soon, headed for Padanaram. The sail was fun and we even got to drag behind the boat. When the O'Connels' little boy, Owen, jumped into the water, he missed the rope and we had to do a man overboard drill!

Once at New Bedford Yacht Club (in Padanaram) we dropped them off at the dock and filled our water and fuel tanks. When we were leaving the harbor we ran aground hard in sand. We tried to reverse off, have another boat tow us off, and more. Once it was clear that we weren't getting off without serious help, we called TowBoat US. The boat was stuck for a solid 15 minutes more before TowBoat US arrived. They got us right off, and we were underway within a few minutes. Thank goodness we didn't get stuck for a while!

When we got into Buzzards Bay the wind and waves were immense. It was blowing over 30 knots from our bow (of course 🙄) with extremely steep 5ft waves. We were only going 6 knots using sail and engine! We made the decision to anchor at Third Beach instead of Point Judith so that we didn't have to beat into the waves for too long. My mom requested that we watch Wolverine. I really enjoyed it and was surprised that it wasn't a Marvel movie. Tonight was another late night!
