We were underway in the ocean when I woke up, headed for Point Lucie. It was a nice, warm day without much wind and steady swells from the southeast. Around lunchtime, we spotted a turtle! He picked up his head and looked at us before diving down again. A little while later we changed our plans, deciding to pull into Fort Peirce and complete the required Covid tests to get into the Bahamas. We pulled into the dock at Safe Harbor Marina in Fort Peirce a few hours later. We fueled up and filled our water tanks before walking to CVS. Getting the test was quite the ordeal! They only administered the test outside through the drive-through, so we walked up to the window. But they wouldn't give us the tests because we weren't in a car. When we told them we were on a boat and didn't have a car available, they said to call an Uber! (this is absolutely crazy because they wanted all 5 of us to cram into a tight indoor space with another driver who isn't in our family JUST to pick up the tests) We walked away quite mad but called an Uber anyway. Once in the Uber, they gave us the tests. Then we stepped out of the car (out of sight of the window, of course) to take the swab before returning the tests to the window. Then the driver took us back to the boat. While it was crazy and annoying, we got our tests done! Now we just have to cross our fingers and hope none of us have covid. After returning to the boat, we motored to Jenson Beach and anchored just off the bridge.
