My dad woke got us underway at 4 am so that we could finish our long sail before dark. When I woke up, we were 4 hours into the 16-hour-long sail. The seas were crazy. It was blowing over 25 knots with close, steep 6 ft+ waves. We were sailing by the lee (with the wind almost straight behind us), wing on wing (jib on one side and main on the other). It was a fun sail and we hit a record speed for the boat since the last Burmuda Race: 13 knots! We arrived in Cape May around 7 pm, 2 hours ahead of schedule. We docked at a Marina and went to take showers before dinner. Tomorrow should be another long sail!
