25 nautical miles

After eating breakfast, we did our schoolwork on the Rogers’ glass porch. Around noon, we left to go to our next destination, Castine at the time. The breeze was chilly, even though there was only 6 knots of wind. Luckily it was a sunny day, otherwise I would’ve been a human popsicle! Once through Mussel Shoals we decided to go to Rockport instead of Castine and Bucks Harbor. Cyrus made the turn and we ended up doing an extremely tight 720! We arrived to Rockport around 3pm. The mooring we stayed at was pretty dirty, but we cleaned the line off. Rockport has an immense tide of about 15 feet! We seem to have a torquedo motor that is doomed to not work… our new battery isn't transmitting, so we had to use the old battery. Once we had gotten our motor troubles all figured out, we motored in to the dinghy dock at Rockport with ice cream in mind. But when we got to the icecream place it was closed! Obviously we needed ice cream, so we ended up walking to a grocery store to get a carton (I recommend Giffords ice cream if you can find it- it’s amazing). All in all we walked about 3 miles! In case you can't tell, our rule on vacation is to have ice cream every day. BEST. RULE. EVER!
