10 nautical miles

Dad went for a run and stopped at the grocery store this morning. He also reimbursed the coffee shop and bought two little treats. My favorite was the cherry tart. Today was overcast, cold, and windy -- not a fun combination!

Aunt Caroline and Uncle Ian are leaving for their flight in March Harbor around noon today. We dropped the mooring to go say a quick goodbye in Hope Town. It was an uneventful and short sail, and we were picking up a mooring only half an hour after leaving. We dinghied to the ferry dock to meet them. It was so good to see them again after our rushed goodbyes a few days ago! We got a quick lunch and ate at the ferry dock. When the ferry came we said goodbye and watched as they left for Marsh Harbor. Then we dinghied back to Running Tide and dropped the mooring.

Lark hailed us on the VHF to see what we were doing. They said that when they found us in Hope Town on AIS they thought that was that for dinner! We told them we were just going to say goodbye to family. After picking up the mooring in Man-O-War we dinghied into land.

We started the 2.5-mile walk to the Elsners (we met them yesterday at the coffee shop and they offered for us to go stop by). We ran there to speed the trip up and get more exercise. They were really happy that we stopped by and gave us Reese's eggs. We got a tour of the property which was previously owned by the Parker Brothers. The company would send their game designers here to think. Clarke and Cyrus loved paddling in their clear kayak. The Elsners are really nice! Around 4:30 pm they gave us a ride back to the boat.

We quickly got ready to go to Lark for dinner. We were bringing appetizers, broccoli, and ice cream. Then we dinghied out. Their boat is really pretty, especially for 60ft. They are really nice and entertaining and said they loved having kids on the boat. Dinner was amazing -- they cooked homemade mac 'n' cheese. We had chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert. Around 9 pm we dinghied back and went to bed. The Kavanaghs (Lark) are really nice!
