25 nautical miles

I woke up at 8 am and got ready to meet the O'Conors in the parking lot. The donut place we were planning on going to was closed, so we went to The Hot Little Biscuit instead. It was delicious!

Next my mom, Aunt Liz, and I went shopping at an outlet mall. First, we stopped at Spartina and bought some Christmas presents. Then we went to Gap. We were back in the car by 11:30 am and made a quick stop at Harris Teeter before heading back to the boat. Once at the Marina with the food packed away on the boat, we said goodbye to the O'Conors with a promise to meet up sometime in the next 6 months. It's been fun spending so much time with them this past weekend!

After the O'Conors went home, my mom and I got the boat ready to leave the dock while my dad was on a work call. He finished his call around 1:30 pm and we were leaving the dock by 2 pm. We took the ICW to get further south. There was a series of bridges while leaving; we went under the first fixed bridge and then had to station-keep for about 10 minutes while waiting for the next bridge to open. By 2:30 pm we were moving south again. We had a peaceful sail to Tom Point Creek, where we were anchored by 5 pm. The rest of the night was spent hanging around the boat listening to Christmas music!
