I got to sleep in this morning, which was a relief! Last night I couldn't sleep because there were 50 knots of wind whistling through the boats and masts. It was like never-ending, amplified whistling! By the morning it had finally died down to around 30 knots. When I came topside, Clarke was fishing on the dock (no surprise there) and my parents were doing various jobs around the boat.

As I was walking back from the bathroom, my dad came running down the dock pointing to something in the water. It turns out it was Cyrus's lost Croc! The croc had blown away last night, when the wind was higher and in the opposite direction. The croc had blown off the boat, out of the dock area, and somewhere down the channel while we were sleeping. When the wind switched directions, the shoe just so happened to blow back into the dock area right as my dad was looking at the water! We were able to snatch it out of the water and save his pair of Crocs. It was the highlight of my our day!

After that, we did schoolwork before having leftovers for lunch. We worked on the boat the rest of the afternoon, while someone repaired the damage from the channel marker a couple of days earlier. Around 4 pm, we walked into the cute town of Beaufort. Right after we got into town we learned that the yacht club's loaner car was back at the Marina. We ran back to pick up the car and do some errands, including fixing a catastrophic event- my dad forgetting his Crocs at home!

The rest of the night was nice and relaxed. The Moores arrived around 9 pm after a long drive. It was so nice to see them again! I am also thankful that we got a day of rest after pushing so hard to get south through the storm.
