Powder Mountain/Grand Targhee

We packed the car, checked out of the apartment, and were at the mountain by 10 am. There were more cars in the parking lot than normal because it was snowing.

It was exceptionally cold and windy, and the falling snow certainly didn't help the temperatures! We stayed mostly in the woods because there was nice snow and it was protected from the wind. Luckily, the Hidden Lake lift ran in the same direction as the wind so the chair ride was surprisingly comfortable. We did a few runs before getting cold and heading to the car. We found out that Clarke didn't have any layers tucked into his pants AND his fly was down. No wonder he was exceptionally cold!

We ate lunch while driving. In a town along the way to Grand Targhee, we stopped for a milkshake at Sonic. We got a Reese's "milkshake", but it had the consistency of ice cream. When we turned it upside down, nothing moved!

We arrived at the rental condo around 5 pm. We took showers and did schoolwork before having dinner. The Phunds, family friends of my parents, arrived around 8 pm. They're spending the night and skiing with us tomorrow. Their 1-month-old daughter is adorable!
