We made banana pancakes this morning. The boys brought a stack over to the Knights. They hailed us later saying the pancakes were consumed at an alarming rate! We were finished with school work by lunch. Then we got in our dinghy and went with the Knights to explore the mangroves. It was a long upwind, but we made it.

The river traverse was a combination of walking and motoring. We saw lots of sea turtles and sharks. We realized that a very strong current was against us when Clarke went faster on the paddleboard without paddling downwind than we did with the motor!

Soon we got to a split in the river. One direction led out of the river while the other led to the beach. We went to the beach. It was gorgeous! The colors were so vibrant and diverse. We found out why there was so much current. The river led right to the beach and there was lots of water flowing in the small opening. We took the paddleboards to the opening and rode the current down. It was was really fast! After playing around for a little bit we went back downriver. This time we had current and wind with us!

Mom and Cyrus went on the paddleboard while Clarke, dad, and I sailed the dinghy. We picked up the motor and Clarke and I acted as sails by standing up and holding our big hats out. Dad steered with the oars. We went really fast! Mom and Cyrus were faster though. They just beat barely beat us to the boat. The Knights came just after us.

After dinner, they came to our boat to exchange pictures. When they went to go back to their boat we found out the dinghy was gone! We sent a few people back to Knightlife while we went to find the elusive dinghy. Thankfully we found out another boat had picked it up when they saw it floating past. We pulled off the mooring and went to pick it up. I'm so glad we found it!
