6 miles hiking

I woke up to a very windy day. It was blowing about 25 knots from the north. When we put clothes out to dry, they were done within 30 min! I just wish i had my optiā€¦

After breakfast we dinghied to land and started our hike. The trail was right off the dock, conveniently. We did a 3 mile hike to Jordan Pond. The woods are so different from those in Virginia, which made them even more fun to walk through. When we got to the pond, there was a place for hikers to order food. The line was ridiculous! Good thing we brought our own food.

We ate a nice lunch down by the lake. To no suprise Clarke caught 2 frogs and Cyrus fell in the water. We stopped at the gift shop where I got a t-shirt and Clarke and Cyrus got hats. Then we walked 3 miles back to the boat. On our way to the dock we saw a tiny mouse. It was adorable and not afraid of us and spent a good bit of time near my dad! We also stopped at Thuya Gardens to look around. I would reccomend going, especially if the flowers are in bloom.

Once at the boat we dropped off our hiking stuff and picked up our things for showering. After this trip, I will always treat showering as a luxury! Once we were all clean we went to restaraunt called Colonel's. They had some of the best pizza my family had ever eaten. Before heading back to the boat, we went to a market to get groceries for our backpacking trip. Yes, of course we got ice cream! We tried Giffords Maine Wild Blueberry.
