Eagle Point

I woke up to 8 inches of fresh snow! We did school until 9:30 am, then headed to the slopes to get in some fresh skiing. The shuttle was PACKED.

The powder was amazing! It was fluffy, soft, and perfect for skiing. I felt like I was skiing on a cloud!

On our first lift ride, the chair had stopped an unusual amount of times. As we were waiting in line after our second run, the lift stopped and wouldn't start again. Eventually, the lifties instructed all of us to walk up the mountain to the lodge. It was a long, gruelly hike, especially with the thin air. We were also hiking in all of our ski gear and had to carry our skis and poles. Clarke and Cyrus got snowmobile rides up the mountain and loved it!

My mom, Cyrus, Clarke, and I went back to the condo while my Dad stayed back to help the Ski Patrol. Dad had made friends with the main patroller, Jessie, about a week ago and had offered to serve as a volunteer patroller on occasion.

We did work until lunch, then headed back to the mountain. Monarch (the lift that shut down) had re-opened about 45 minutes after we left. We skied for a few hours without any lift troubles, but at 3:45 pm our luck ran out. Everyone got to the top without a problem but we weren't able to ski any longer. We went back home.

We did schoolwork until dinner. Then we tried to watch The Naked Gun. The movie wouldn't play, so we went to bed early. Hopefully the lift won't have trouble tomorrow!
