35 nautical miles

My dad got up early today to do provisioning and laundry. The rest of us had a lazy morning. Clarke went fishing while I went on the paddleboard and Cyrus played on the computer. When my dad dropped off the groceries, my mom and I put them away while he went back on land to finish the laundry.

We departed Cold Spring Harbor around noon to catch a favorable current in the Long Island Sound and Hell's Gate in NYC. We were on a broad reach the whole way and were able to keep our sail up in the channel. I loved entering NYC by boat because it gave me a totally different perspective of the city!

Once we were docked at the new Brooklyn Marina, we got ready to explore NYC. We called an Uber to drive us to Manhattan/Little Italy so we could eat at an authentic Italian restaurant. We found a cute place called Gnocco. They have absolutely AMAZING pizza (to no surprise)! Once we were finished with dinner Ubered to the Brooklyn Bridge and then walked across. The view was incredible, especially at night with everything lit up!

When we got back to the boat, we prepared ourselves for a hot night. It amazes me that NYC keeps moving all through the night.
