When I woke up, we were already an hour into our journey to Savannah. My parents decided that we were going to sail through the night to make up for the extra time we spent in Beaufort fixing the scratches from our mark grazing. I quickly got started on my schoolwork, only stopping to marvel at the clear, blue water and have a quick lunch. We were sailing in an eddy of the Gulf Stream, and the water was the most brilliant, clear blue, almost as if someone had dyed it.

Halfway through the afternoon, my dad spotted dolphins right off our bow. We ran forward to check and saw 2 dolphins playing in our bow waves! They frolicked around the boat for a while. It was amazing to see them up close for so long and in such clear water. After about 15 minutes they swam off, most likely to join their pod.

I finished my schoolwork around 4 pm, way later than usual. I read until dark before eating dinner while watching the sunset. After dinner, my parents went to bed and I started my watch. Cyrus went to bed around 8 pm, but Clarke stayed up with me. Clarke dozed off a couple of times, while I stayed up. We got my mom up around 10:30 pm and retired to our beds. It's crazy how late 10:30 feels while on watch! I think it feels later because there's nothing to do except sit there, and so you start thinking about how tired you are.
