5 nautical miles, 13 miles hiking

We got up early so that we could get all of our hiking in. Once everyone was packed up we started our hike. Deer Brook Trail was very rocky and we ran the whole way down. Once at Jordan Pond we took another trail to Eagle Lake. The trail had these raised wooden planks to walk on and while I was running off one I twisted my ankle. It hurt to walk on for a while, but I kept going. Walking up the West Trail on Cadillac Mtn was hard because of the incline and my ankle, but the veiw at the top was definitely worth it!

After lunch we swung by the campsite to pick up our packs. Then we started the hike back to NE Harbor. We successfully hiked over 13 miles and over 3,000 vertical feet today! I did 9 miles and 2,500 vertical ft with a sprained ankle.

Once we were back on the boat we unpacked. Then my mom, Cyrus, and I dinghied into shore to do laudry, take showers, and get groceries. We were leaving the dock to head to Somes Sound by 7:30 pm, an hour and a half after when we wanted to leave, but that's how we Garretts roll! Around 8:30 pm we were anchored. Then my dad, Clarke, and I ate some ice cream before going to bed.
