35 nautical miles, 15 miles biking

We left Cuddyhunk around 6 am for Block. The sail was nice and the seas were calm, so we arrived around 11:30 am and anchored in Big Salt Pond. Then we found a place to rent bikes, ate lunch, and went to land. We walked to the bike place where they fitted us for bikes. Once everyone had a good bike, we started our ride. The first part of the bike ride was a steep uphill, but we took a break at the top and explored a lighthouse. This side of the island had big wind turbines about a half-mile offshore. Dad read up about them, and it was interesting to learn some new facts. Then we kept going. A few miles later we turned onto some backroads (of course!). After a few wrong turns, we ended up on a dirt road running along the shore, which changed to a not-road running through someone's yard. Eventually, we made it back to the main road and continued until the bike shop, stopping only once to refill water bottles and get donuts. Then we returned the bikes and everyone split up to look through shops. Cyrus was very excited to find a tee shirt that fit him. Once we had all met up, we got dinner at a little restaurant, walked to the dinghy, and returned to the boat, where we all took showers and crashed into bed.
