10 nautical miles

We rode in to Menemsha and caught the 10 am bus. That took us to Edgartown, where we hopped off and started walking around town. We looked around some shops and Sofia ended up getting a tee shirt. My dad took us to see a really cool tree. It was brought from China in a flower pot about 300 years ago and is now towering over its surroundings. The tree is so pretty! We continued to walk around the neighborhoods for a little while, before going to get a small snack/lunch. Dad got some amazing breakfast burritos! Then we all split up and looked around different parts of town. I went with my dad to the yacht club. It was really cute! Around 1 pm we started walking back to the bus. On the way, dad got us a delicious smoothie! We rode the bus back to Menemsha, then dinghied back to the boat and pulled anchor. My dad and I decided where to go for the night. In the end, we decided on Cuddyhunk and set course for the island. On the way, we hit a lobster (or maybe crab?) pot. It got stuck on our prop! We ended up sailing the rest of the way and anchored in a remote little spot on the western side of the island. My dad dove down and got the line off. It didn't do anything to the prop, thank goodness! Then the boys explored in the dinghy. Once they came back we ate. When everyone was done, Sofia, mom, dad, and Cyrus went on a little hike to the top of a nearby hill. We went to bed when they got back.
