35 nautical miles

I woke up around 7:30 am and started my schoolwork. We pulled anchor around 10 am. Luckily, I was able to finish my work before we went into the ocean. We put both sails up and were able to turn the engine off while still averaging 8 knots. We saw some dolphins too! Nonna said that this was her favorite sail, even though it was windy and a bit rough!

When we reached the Richardsons' house we took the sails down. Leslie Richardson waved to us from her dock. We made a quick docking and then said hello. Mrs. Leslie is so energetic and welcoming! She ushered us inside where cookies and drinks were waiting.

Nonna was originally going to stay the night on the boat but ended up heading home because my uncle (her son) was hospitalized. Mrs. Leslie was incredibly kind and understanding. She made Nonna a nice dinner for the road and then, along with my mom, drove Nonna to her car.

I took a shower on the boat while Mom and Mrs. Leslie were gone. When they got back, we walked to Harbour Town. It was fun to see the popular lighthouse and shops in the area, and the boys loved the playground. The live oaks that lined the trails were beautiful too.

When we returned to the house we met Mrs. Leslie's husband, Mr. JR Richardson. After talking for a little bit, we went back to the boat to get ready for dinner.

In the house, the boys entertained themselves in many ways! They found old video games and tried to set them up. They played various songs through Alexa and had a dance party. They even played with the lights, changing their color and brightness. We had salmon with pesto pasta and salad for dinner, followed by a blueberry cake-cobbler with vanilla and peach ice cream. It was absolutely delicious! Around 10 pm we said goodnight and headed back to the boat to go to bed.

Leslie and JR are such a fun couple and I'm glad we got to meet them!

Side note: we are ending our voyage a few days early so we can support my uncle and his family during a tough time
