We departed from Rockport around 6:30 am so that we would have time to stop in Castine and look around the town. The morning had thick fog and no wind. Luckily the fog lifted around 10 am and we were able to see again, however the breeze remained dead. It was neat to see the walls of fog stretching in every direction. When we arrived at Castine, we found out that the Castine dockmaster lets you stay 2 hours at the dock for free. We docked and walked around town. We saw the Maine Maritime Academy, where students train to navigate and operate merchant ships. There was also a cute little bookstore that we shopped at. I got Crazy Rich Asians, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (newest book in the Hunger Games series), and The One Memory of Flora Banks.

Before arriving at the Eggemogin Reach we had the sail up, but the wind was directly off our bow. When we got to the Reach we were excited because we could finally have our sail full without having to tack! Except it seemed the wind was not in our favor today and there was a big wind line right as we turned. We had our sail up but doing little to nothing for another 2 hours since there was no wind. When the wind FINALLY picked back up it was yet again on our bow! These events made our turn into Blue Hill harbor without the wind dying or changing direction especially exciting. After we were on Buddy Allen's mooring we all took quick showers before he and his wife Lucy picked us up to go to their house for dinner. The food was really good, and we got back to Running Tide around 10pm.
